Department of Agrarian Reform starts the Lean Six Sigma Journey

During the last quarter of 2020, DAR’s Agrarian Reform Capacity Development Service tapped Whitehall Consulting to provide training and certification for their internal quality auditors nationwide.  Their end goal: delivering excellent government services to their clients (landowners, farmers, and agrarian reform beneficiaries).  As shared by the ARCDS project implementation team members Jeanette Abillar, Marisol Anis, and Myrell Recaña, headed by Dir. Susana R. Serrano, the expected focus was on process improvement tools and identifying areas of effectiveness and improvement through system reviews and audits.

At first, some of the project sponsors (top leaders from DAR’s central and regional offices) had little knowledge of Lean Six Sigma.  But as Engineer Nestor Pagaduan, Chief Admin Officer of DAR Region 1 shared, “After the first session, we found it very interesting and we learned a lot.”
